Longpo town

Longpo town is located in the north of Shuangpai County. It is adjacent to wuxingling forest farm in the East, shangrenli Township and Yongjiang Township in the south, Hejiadong Township, Wulipai town and Lingling district in the west, Wulipai town and pingfutou Township in the north. The town has a total area of 337.98 square kilometers (2017), 746.67 hectares of arable land, 7113 hectares of forest land and 100613 people (2017). The town is located on both sides of Xiaoshui River, with mountains on the East and west sides and plains and hills from south to north. Historical evolution

The town was formerly known as Chengguan town. In June 1950, it belonged to Shuangpai, guanmenchan, Jiujia village, Wuya mountain and Liangcun Township, the seventh district of Lingling county. In August 1952, it belonged to Shuangpai, Liangcun, xiadeng, Jiujia, daluchou, guanwenchan, Yicun and wuyashan Township, the seventh district of Lingling county. In May 1956, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, belonging to Shuangpai township of Lingling county. In October 1958, the township was transformed into a people's commune (hereinafter referred to as commune), which is Dongfeng commune in Lingling county. In April 1959, the commune was named Shuangpai commune after its place name. In July 1961, the establishment of Shuangpai district was restored, belonging to Shuangpai commune of Shuangpai District, Lingling county. In January 1965, it was assigned to Xiaoshui Forest Management Bureau (now Shuangpai County). In April 1984, the government and the commune were set up separately, and Shuangpai commune was changed into Shuangpai Township, which was abolished in August of the same year, and its administrative region was merged into Chengguan town. In May 1976, the Shuangpai group of Shuangpai commune was analyzed and Chengguan town was established. In August 1995, Chengguan town changed its name to longpo town.

Xinfuniangling is a human settlement site from Shang Dynasty to Western Zhou Dynasty. Ge Ding, a bronze ware of late Western Zhou Dynasty, was unearthed in Yicun. The tombs of soldiers in the Lingdi period of the Eastern Han Dynasty were unearthed in Luobu, xiadeng village. Leishi Town, Liangcun village, was a garrison of Zhenbing in the early Tang Dynasty. The Liangxian Temple stage built by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1784) was still preserved in this village. Heiyan on the right side of national highway 207 and daluchou village is a limestone karst cave, which has been developed into Qinglong Cave Scenic Spot and become a beautiful tourist attraction in southern Hunan.
