Matian town is located in the west of Yongxing County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province. It is 22 kilometers away from the county. Historical evolution
Matian town was first called "yaquepu" and later "Tailai market". In the early Qing Dynasty, "Tailai market" was renamed as Matian town because of the local officers and soldiers raising horses in the nearby fields.
