Fangyuan town
Fangyuan Town, subordinate to Guiyang County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, is located in the southwest of Guiyang County, 12 kilometers away from the county. Provincial highway s322 and Guijia high-grade highway cross the road. In May 2012, the former Yantang township was merged into Fangyuan Town, and the new Fangyuan town was established. The total land area is 220 square kilometers, including 2876 hectares of cultivated land and 2409 hectares of paddy field. It has jurisdiction over 23 administrative villages and 312 villager groups, with a total population of 50328 in 2015.

During the Xianfeng Period of the Qing Dynasty, it was the residence of Xiezhong regiment. In 1938, it was Qingjing township of Guiyang County. In 1949, it was changed into Xiezhong district office. In 1950, Yongping township was established. In 1956, it was changed to Fangyuan township. In 1958, Fangyuan people's commune was established. In 1984, it was withdrawn and restored to Fangyuan township. In February 1996, the township was removed to build a town. In March 2012, Yantang township was incorporated.
