Maojiatan Hui and Uygur township is a scattered minority Township approved by Hunan Provincial People's Government in 1988. It is located 13 kilometers west of Hanshou County. Zhumushan Township in the East, Yanzui Township and zhujiapu town in the south, Dingcheng District in the west, niejiaqiao Township and canggang town in the northwest and North. The township governs 16 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee, covering an area of 53.05 square kilometers (2017), with a total area of 80205 mu, 28700 mu of cultivated land, 21270 mu of water area and 8520 mu of forest land.
