Ludishan Township

Wuling District of Changde City governs the township. It is located 3km east of Changde City, bordering Niubitan town of Dingcheng District in the East, Yuanshui River in the south, across the river from Deshan science and Technology Economic Development Zone, Dongjiao township of Wuling District in the West and Dongjiang township of Wuling District in the north. The township government is located in xiongjiaping village. The total area of the township is 54 square kilometers, with 31120 mu of cultivated land, including 25847 mu of paddy field and 5273 mu of dry land. It has 21 administrative villages, 224 villager groups, 1 fishing ground and 1 horticultural farm. The total population was 34599 (2017).

Historical evolution

Originally belonging to Changde County, ludishan commune was set up in 1961, and the township was changed in 1984. Later, it was assigned to Wuling district. Ludishan has a rich history. Daguan temple, Guanyin temple, ancestral temple, Shigong temple, Yudai bridge, Yuxian bridge, meimentou and other historical buildings and places of interest have been handed down to this day. Yanzhizi, an ancient architectural site, is still there. In taijiapu village, an ancient tomb of the Eastern Han Dynasty was excavated in 1996, and 19 national level 1 and 2 cultural relics were unearthed. Shemupu village was originally called shemuzhai. It is said that it got its name because Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty planted trees of the country here. Majiaji (Y ù E) river runs through the whole territory and connects with Yuanshui river. It can enter the Yangtze River through Dongting Lake, reach Chongqing in the West and Shanghai in the East. Rural roads extend in all directions, including Xinxi line and dingma line. National Highway 207 and Shichang Railway pass through the territory and are close to the east railway station. The opening of Yuanshui highway railway bridge shortens the distance between Changde airport and the township by 5km Air transportation is more convenient.

By the end of 2005, the fish pond area of the township reached more than 11000 mu, with an annual output of more than 9860 tons of fresh fish.
