History of construction
In July 1944, Huichuan county was established.
In September 1958, Weiyuan County and Huichuan county were merged and Huichuan commune was established; in December of the same year, Weiyuan County was transferred to Lintao county.
After the restoration of Weiyuan County in January 1962, Huichuan commune was still established.
In July 1983, Huichuan town was changed.
In September 2004, Yangzhuang Township merged with Huichuan town.
