Songluo township is located in the central and southern part of Shennongjia forest region. It is connected with Xinhua Township in the East, Xingshan Township in the south, Hongping, Muyu and Nature Reserve in the west, and Songbai and honghuaduo forest farms in the north. It is only 29 kilometers away from Songbai Town, Shennongjia political, economic and cultural center. Songluo township is a combination of Songluo, Chaoyang and Changfang. Now it has 8 administrative villages including Lianhua, Xipo, Lizi, Houshan, Panlong, Songluo, Changfang and Zhongling, 1 neighborhood committee of Songluo community, 33 Village (neighborhood) groups with 6726 people (2017). The township has 9187.1 mu of arable land and 354000 mu of forest land.

Hydropower resources

Now 17 small hydropower stations have been built and put into operation with an installed capacity of 42400 kW. There are 3 hydropower stations under construction with an installed capacity of 79400 kW.

It has been proved that there are nearly 10 kinds of mineral deposits such as phosphorus, iron, lead-zinc, copper, crystal and agate, among which the reserves of phosphorus and lead-zinc are the most abundant. There are two phosphorus ore mining enterprises in the township, namely Shennongjia phosphating technology company and Renhe mining company, with an ore mining capacity of nearly 650000 tons in 2010. There are still two prospecting enterprises in the exploration of lead-zinc, pyrite and other minerals.

Songluo River

Yuquanhe tourist area is mainly characterized by primeval forest, river and gorge landscape. Many high mountains, lakes, rivers and valleys, beautiful scenery and natural wonders have formed unlimited scenery. There is a river running through Songluo Township in the District, namely Songluo river. The river bed at the bottom of the gorge is a wide and flat shoal. Although the current is still turbulent and snowy, the water is clear and the stones are distributed.
