Xiaoguan Dong township is located in the southwest of Xuanen county. It governs 40 administrative villages, 441 villager groups, 12000 households, with a total population of 43000, of which the Dong population accounts for about 75%. The total land area of the township is 429.8 square kilometers, with 63000 mu of commonly used cultivated land, including 25000 mu of paddy field, 38000 mu of dry land, 340000 mu of forest land, and 6000 mu of water surface. Jiaoshi provincial road and Gongshui river run through it.
General situation of villages and towns
Xuanen County governs the township. Located in the southwest of the county. It covers an area of 422.49 square kilometers. The permanent resident population is 34272 (the sixth census in 2010). It has jurisdiction over 40 administrative villages. The township government is located in Huanghe village.
evolution
Xiaoguan was originally named Xiaoguan. Xiaoguan is a kind of small bamboo. Before the development of Xiaoguan, there are many bamboo trees all over the mountains. There is a big mountain pass in front of it and a dangerous pass behind it, so it is called Xiaoguan. For the convenience of writing, later generations changed it to Xiaoguan. During the Anti Japanese War, it was renamed Xiaoguan to show its bright and auspicious meaning. In Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Tusi. The Tusi system was abolished in the 13th year of Yongzheng reign of Qing Dynasty. After the first year of Qianlong, it belonged to shihuli, Xuanen county. During the period of the Republic of China, it was Xiaoguan Township and Xiping township. After 1949, Xiaoguan district (six districts) was set up, with jurisdiction over 16 townships. In 1958, it was divided into Dongfeng, Dongguang and ganghuo communes. Xiaoguan district was restored in 1961, with 12 communes under its jurisdiction. In 1975, Zhangguan, Pingdiba, Gaoqiao, Xiaoguan, Maoshan and Caoba were merged into Xiaoguan commune, and daodongtang, tongziying, qinjiaping, Batai, woxiping and Dashan were merged into tongziying commune. In 1984, two communes, Xiaoguan and tongziying, were abolished and Xiaoguan district was set up, with jurisdiction over Xiaoguan town and 12 townships, including Dayan, Gaoqiao, Pingdi, Zhangguan, Caoba, Maoshan, daodongtang, tongziying, qinjiaping, Batai, woxiping and Dashan. In June 1985, five townships (towns) including Xiaoguan, tongziying, Batai, Maoshan and Zhangguan were changed into Dong townships (towns).
In May 1995, it was divided into Xiaoguan district and tongziying district. In November 1996, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and Xiaoguan Township and tongziying Dong Township were established under the jurisdiction of the county. In March 2001, Xiaoguan Township and tongziying Dong Township were abolished and merged to establish Xiaoguan Dong township. In 2004, the township government stationed in the Yellow River, with a population of 421.5 square kilometers and an area of 421.5 square kilometers. Economics

In 2008, the township implemented the tobacco leaf area of 24000 mu, ensured the completion of tobacco leaf purchase volume of 55000 Dan, realized the income of tobacco farmers of 29 million yuan and tobacco tax of 6 million yuan.
The development speed of tea is accelerated
Since 2007, there are 11000 mu of tea gardens in the whole Township, including 2500 mu of newly built tea gardens and 8000 mu of picking area in 2007. Weimin tea professional cooperative has been established with 187 farmers. Zhang niansheng tea professional cooperative is being established. Sanjiaoyan "Gongyu" tea factory, which has invested more than one million yuan, is stepping up construction.
