Gaang Township in Tang Dynasty
Tanggaang Township, belonging to Xiahe County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the east of Xiahe County, connecting kagaman township of Hezuo city in the East, zanayou Township in the south, Damai Township in the West and wanggetang town in the north. The area is 208.05 square kilometers. In 2018, 2780 people registered residence.
After 1949, it was divided into the third district (former Qingshui District). In 1958, the district and township system was abolished and communization was implemented. Six townships were merged into Dongfeng commune. In 1961, it was divided into wangatan commune. In 1986, it was changed into Tang ga'ang township. In June 2020, tangga'ang Township governs five administrative villages.
In 2018, tangga'ang Township had three comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
After 1949, it was divided into the third district (former Qingshui District).

Tangga'ang township is located in the Gehe River Valley, where the terrain fluctuates greatly. The terrain is a large valley floodplain. The main mountains are the animalen mountains. The highest point in the territory is Mt. majula, which is located in darzanggou, shankaling village, tanggaiang Township, with an altitude of 3280 meters; the lowest point, wanmodao village, which is located on the Bank of Gehe River, with an altitude of 2610 meters.
