When Jingjiang county was established in November 1952, it was transferred to Gongan County; when Jingjiang county was merged into Gongan County in April 1955, it was transferred to Gongan County. In 1965, Ouchi was put under the jurisdiction of Gong'an County. Ouchi town and nanzha District merged at the same time. In September 1965, the Jingzhou District instructed that Ouchi town should be handed over to Gongan County for management. in 1975, the organizational system of nanzha district was abolished and the Ouchi town was merged to establish a new Ouchi town.

In 208 ad, in the 13th year of Jian'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Cao Cao's 830000 troops went down to the south of the Yangtze River, where he stationed troops to raise food and prepare for the battle of Chibi.
