Minggang town
Minggang Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Pingqiao District, Xinyang City, Henan Province, gets its name because it is adjacent to the Minghe River and the four seas. It is located in Xinyang, Nanyang and Zhumadian, the junction of Pingqiao, Shihe, Zhengyang, Queshan, Tongbai and Biyang counties (districts), the Dabie Mountains in the South and the eastern Henan Plain in the north. It is known as the "famous city in the Central Plains".

In the Sui Dynasty, the second year of Daye (606) belonged to Yizhou, and later to Yiyang County. in the Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Yiyang County. in the Song Dynasty, it belonged to Xinyang County, Xinyang County and Xinyang County. in the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Xinyang Prefecture and Xinyang County. in the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Xinyang Prefecture. On April 1, 1949, Xinyang was liberated and the people's democratic government of Xinyang County was established. In August 1960, Xinyang County was abolished and merged into Xinyang City. Minggang belonged to Xinyang City. Xinyang County was restored in October 1961, and Minggang belonged to Xinyang County. In August 1998, Xinyang district was abolished and Xinyang City was established. Xinyang County was abolished and Pingqiao District was established. Minggang is subordinate to Pingqiao District of Xinyang City.

In April 1983, Minggang town had 7 streets and 9 administrative villages: Zhongshan street, Shengli Street, Hongwei street, station street, Gongren street, nonggong street and Junmin street; Minghe bridge (formerly Xinjian brigade), sanlijing, Liuzhuang, Bali, Hanzhuang, Yanglou, Daying, Dawa and Gongzhuang. In December 1984, Minggang Township and town were merged and collectively referred to as Minggang Town, which governs the original scope of Minggang Township and town, namely 26 administrative villages and 7 neighborhood committees. In September 1994, the neighborhood committee of market street was set up. on December 24, 2007, the administrative village system of mingheqiao, Gongzhuang and sanlijing villages was abolished and renamed community neighborhood committee. At that time, Minggang town had jurisdiction over 23 administrative villages and 11 community neighborhood committees.
