Chenglou township is located in the eastern Henan Plain, 9 kilometers south of Ningling county. The township is 40 kilometers away from Shangqiu City, which is the golden intersection of Beijing Kowloon Railway, Longhai railway, Beijing Shenzhen Expressway and Lianhuo expressway. Chenglou township is located in the south central part of Ningling County, and the township government is 9 kilometers away from the county seat, which is located in wawuliu village. Historical evolution
it is said that in the second year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, the village was named Chengzhuang. Because a building was built by the surname Cheng, it was renamed Chenglou. In the Ming Dynasty, Chenglou belonged to Xianghua Township, which was called xiangsiye. At the beginning of the Republic of China, it belonged to the southeast region. In 1941, the Japanese puppet regime changed the county into three districts. Chenglou belonged to the second district (Zhanggong). In September 1945, the county was divided into three districts and 12 townships, with Wangdian as the township. In February 1947, the democratic government of Ningling county was established. There are six districts in the county, with Wawu and Liuxiang as the center of the six districts and Gouxiang as the four districts. In 1949, Ningling was liberated. There were five districts and one town in the county. Gouxiang was the township and belonged to the first district. Wawuliu, jiangwangzhuang and Houzhang were the townships and belonged to the second district. In 1955, the county abolished the district system and merged into 32 townships (towns), with Chenglou and Gouxiang as townships. In 1977, Chuzhuang and weizhai people's communes were added, and Huzhuang, menglukou, zhanglukou and other village committees under their jurisdiction were put under the jurisdiction of Chuzhuang people's commune; Gaozhuang village committee under their jurisdiction was put under the jurisdiction of weizhai people's commune.
