Baohe town
Baohe Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Xushui District, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the northwest of Xushui District, 20 kilometers away from the urban area in the southeast, adjacent to Yi county and Dingxing in the northwest, humu Township in the East and northeast, Suicheng town in the southeast, dawangdian town in the south, dongfushan Township in the West and Weidu Township in Yi County in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 8.2 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 8.5 km, with a total area of 33.58 square kilometers. In late 2018, the total population of the registered residence in the waterfall township was 16938.
In the early Qing Dynasty, Baohe Township belonged to northwest road. In the late Qing Dynasty, Fancun community was set up. In 1942, it belonged to the third district. In 1961, Baohe people's commune was established. In 1984, it was rebuilt into Baohe township. As of June 2020, Baohe township has 9 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the Township People's government is stationed in Jiecun.
Baohe Township mainly focuses on planting and animal husbandry. In 2013, the total agricultural output value of Baohe township was 183.78 million yuan, accounting for 19% of the town's GDP; the per capita net income of farmers was 5749 yuan. The total industrial output value is 57397 million yuan. In 2018, there were 17 industrial enterprises and 26 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Baohe township.

The territory of Baohe township is bounded by Baohe reservoir, which is dominated by piedmont plain to the East, South and north of the reservoir; the west is a shallow mountain area, which is dominated by hills and mountains. The terrain of the township is slightly higher in the west, lower in the East, higher in the North and lower in the south, and the ground elevation is generally 3350 meters above sea level. The lowest point is 1200 meters and the highest point is 1800 meters.

Baohe township has the habit of planting fruit trees on hillside and dry land. The forest and fruit area of the township is 3460 mu, and the main varieties are persimmon, apricot, walnut, jujube, etc.

Baohe township is named after the South Bank of Baohe reservoir where there is a river flowing through.
Local specialties
Caohe Donkey Meat fire in Xushui is a round fire. It is a special snack in Xushui district and a local snack in Baohe township. Huoshao is a kind of pasta, which is usually made of dead noodles (the dead noodles are unfermented flour). After it is cooked in the cake pan, it is roasted in the stove to make it scorched outside and tender inside. When it is hot, it is split with a knife, and cooked donkey meat, pepper and coriander can be added. Donkey soup and starch stewed stew, can also be included in the fire with food.
According to historical records, Donkey Meat fire was well-known in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. It originated in Caohe town of Xushui District in the Ming Dynasty. At that time, it appeared in the form of horse meat fire.
