Shekuai Township
Shekuai township is located in the northwest of Dongchuan District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. The township government is 143 kilometers away from Xincun City, covering an area of 166.31 square kilometers. Shekuai village governs eight village committees and is a mixed town of Han and Yi people.
Shekuai township is adjacent to Tangdan town and Yinmin town in the East, hongtudi town in the south, Xueshan Township in Luquan County in the west, along the boundary of Jiduo River and Pudu River, and pubaa Township in Huidong County across Jinsha River in the north. It is the only poverty alleviation Township in the region. It is now managed by the Management Committee of Kunming ruodean Industrial Park and the Management Committee of Kunming Jiaozishan tourism development zone.

Economic overview
In 2007, the total agricultural output value of the township was 14.429 million yuan, an increase of 10.72% over the previous year at comparable prices. Agricultural output value is 3.599 million yuan, forestry output value is 1.132 million yuan, animal husbandry output value is 5.436 million yuan, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery service industry output value is 5.264 million yuan. The total income of rural economy was 12.345 million yuan, an increase of 10.17% at comparable prices, including 3.599 million yuan from agriculture, 5.031 million yuan from secondary and tertiary industries, and 221000 yuan from other industries; the per capita net income of farmers was 1514 yuan, an increase of 559 yuan or 58.5% over the previous year. The total sown area of crops in the township is 11190 mu, including 9557 mu of grain sown area and 2055.4 tons of grain output, an increase of 3.08% over the previous year. The school covers a total area of 12200 square meters. there is one junior middle school and seven primary schools in the township (including two completed primary schools); the new central school complex has been put into use during the year. There are 1335 school-age children, 1326 of whom have entered school, with an enrollment rate of 99% and a drop out rate of 1.82%, a decrease of 0.86%. With dense forests, blooming flowers, beautiful scenery, strange mountains and rocks, and precious flowers and medicinal materials, it is the best place for people to carry out scenery photography, painting creation, mountaineering exploration, scientific investigation and ecological tourism. the development of mineral resources has a long history. According to historical records, shekuai had a famous Dongchuan Maolu copper smelter in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, When Japanese geologist Yoshio Yamaguchi inspected Maolu copper plant, he wrote: "Maolu plant is the most westerly of all the plants. At the peak of mining industry in the past, there were 48 furnace houses, with an annual copper production of 5.6 million jin. The residual furnace fines still exist, which makes the viewer feel prosperous and declining." Maolu village, 28 kilometers away from the township government, has well preserved ancient copper smelting relics, which has been identified as the key cultural relics to be protected at the provincial level.
