Shizimiao town belonged to duyuli of Song County in the late Qing Dynasty. It belonged to the Fourth District of Song County in the 19th year of the Republic of China and was liberated in October 1947. In 1970, the clay was separated from the Baishi commune, and the shizimiao commune was set up alone. In 1984, the commune was abandoned and changed into a township.
