Cangtou town

Cangtou town is located in the northeast of Xin'an County, 25 kilometers away from the county. It borders Hengshui town of Mengjin County in the East, Zhengcun town in the West and Wutou town in the south. It is rich in tourism resources and has the famous Wanshan Lake Yingzuishan scenic spot. S314 tourism line, cijian Wutou Cangtou road and Cangtou Yingzuishan road run through the whole area. The total area of the town is 73.71 square kilometers, including 63 square kilometers of water area. The population density is 434 people / square kilometer, which governs 21 villages and 305 villager groups.

Historical evolution

CangTou township was established in 1956, changed to commune in 1959, and restored to township in 1984. In 1997, with an area of 82.3 square kilometers and a population of 42000, it has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages including Cangtou, Yandong, Longqu, Gaoyan, Yanxi, Hexi, sishang, Xucun, kuangkou, Wangcun, Pingwang, Cangxi, Dazhang, ChenWan, Hongshan, Heyao, Dongling, Guozhuang and Yunshui. Cangtou town is an immigrant town. In order to support the construction of Xiaolangdi water control project on the Yellow River, the original 16 administrative villages in Cangtou, such as Yandong and Yanxi, and 34700 people moved to Wenxian, Mengxian, Zhongmou, Yuanyang and Yima. In March 1999, with the approval of the higher authorities, 12 administrative villages were designated from Zhengcun Township and merged with the former CangTou township to establish a new CangTou township.

The town is an agricultural township with 23 administrative villages (streets), covering an area of 50.878 square kilometers, 2255 hectares of arable land and a total population of 33288. Cangtou town is an important grain and oil production base in the county, known as the "land of fish and rice". The town has a flat terrain, fertile soil and rich water resources. At present, it has more than 6000 mu of water surface and various fish ponds. The main crops are rice, cotton, oil and so on. Among them, the economic crops such as sugarcane, milk melon and water chestnut have become the dominant products of the town. The production of greenhouse vegetables has formed a scale, and the livestock and poultry breeding industry has developed steadily. Township enterprises, especially individual and private enterprises, are booming.
