Penglou Town, belonging to juancheng County, Heze City, Shandong Province, is located in the southeast of juancheng county. It is adjacent to Yanshi town in the East and northeast, Dusi Town, Huanggang town and Huji town in Mudan District in the south, Shiji Town in the west, and Zhengying town in the northwest across Dasha river. The area is 72.74 square kilometers. In 2018, 70592 people registered residence.
In January 1979, Penglou commune was established. In December 1983, Penglou township was established when the commune was withdrawn to build the township. In July 2002, Penglou town was established. In June 2020, Penglou town governs 18 administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 43 industrial enterprises in Penglou Town, including 12 Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size and 130 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
After the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937), it once belonged to Linze County.
In 1940, it belonged to three districts of Yunnan county.
In 1944, Linze County was divided into two parts: Yunju County in the southeast, Linze County in the west, and Penglou County in Yunju county.
In August 1949, it was ten districts of juancheng county.
In January 1979, Penglou commune was established.
In December 1983, Penglou township was established when the commune was withdrawn to build the township.
In February 2001, Mazhai township was abolished and merged into Penglou township.
