Acheng town is located in the east of Yanggu County, Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, 25 kilometers away from Yanggu County. Its geographical coordinates are 116 ° 02 ′ E and 36 ° 11 ′ n. Yanlou town and Zhangqiu town in the west, Qiji town and Anle town in the north, Donge County in the East, Taiqian County in Henan Province across Jindi River in the South and Dongping County in Tai'an City across the Yellow River in the southeast. The town has 83 administrative villages with a total population of 70000, a cultivated area of 120000 Mu and a jurisdiction area of 114.83 square kilometers. There are five ethnic groups: Han, Hui, Buyi and Li. Among them, the Han nationality accounts for 99% of the total population, and the minority nationalities account for 1% of the population. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was prosperous for a time. It was one of the famous commercial ports on both sides of the canal.
Historical evolution
A town gets its name from the location of the town government.
It was called "Keyi" in the spring and Autumn period. It was located in the western border of Qi state. It was named because it was close to Ze. In ancient times, "Ke" and "a" were interchangeable, so they were also called "a Yi".
Qin set up Dong'e County, where the governance of a town, is the East County.
In the Western Han Dynasty, Dong'e county still belonged to the East County, which was governed by Duwei.
This is the reason of the Eastern Han Dynasty.
The Three Kingdoms Wei and the Western Jin belong to the Jibei kingdom. At the end of the Western Jin Dynasty, the county was abolished, and Donge county was restored in the Northern Wei Dynasty.
In the 16th year of emperor kaihuang (596), Dong'e county was divided into Yanggu and Dong'e counties, which were subordinate to Jizhou. Yanggu County was named Yanggu Pavilion. Taking Yanggu Pavilion as the boundary, Acheng belongs to Yanggu County, and the area near dielutou village in the town is the original location of Yanggu County.

During the Qing Dynasty, Yanggu County Magistrate was the director of Kaiya in the town, known as "xian'ertang".
Yihe township was established here in the early years of the Republic of China.
In 1929, it was rezoned as the Second District of Yanggu County, and the district office was located in Acheng town.
In September 1939, the Anti Japanese democratic government of Yanggu County was established, which moved to villages near Acheng.
In the autumn of 1947, Xuyi county was set up, and the county government was once stationed in Haihui Temple of Acheng town.
In August 1949, the organizational system of Xuyi county was abolished, and Acheng still belonged to Yanggu County.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the Second District of Yanggu County, Acheng District and Acheng people's commune were set up here.
In 1984, it was changed into a town.
On October 31, 1996, Fanhai township of Yanggu County was abolished and Fanhai town (luzhenghanmin 47) was established.
In March 2001, the township was withdrawn and merged into the town, and the former Fanhai town was merged into Acheng town.

Acheng town is located in Liaocheng, Shandong Province. It is 12.3 km long from north to South and 10.6 km wide from east to west, with a population density of 590 people / km2. The Yellow River, Jinxian River and Jindi River pass through the southeast of the town, and the small canal (Huitong River in History) runs through the whole area. Acheng town is a famous hometown of Ejiao. According to the research of medical history experts, Yuejiazhuang area of Acheng town is the birthplace of Ejiao.
Ejiao originated from the Warring States period to Qin Dynasty.
Ejiao was listed as the top grade in Shennong materia medica classic of Han Dynasty. The medicinal record was first found in the ancient medical work 52 disease prescriptions unearthed from Mawangdui Han tomb.
There is a record of "Dong Agung Ejiao" in Yuanhe county annals of Tang Dynasty. In 1810, Zhang Shun set up the "Heshun hall" to boil donkey hide gelatin in Xiyue village of Acheng.
In the compendium of Materia Medica by Li Shizhen of Ming Dynasty, Ejiao is considered as the holy medicine for the treatment of hematemesis, hemogonorrhea, hematuria, irregular menstruation and other diseases. Donkey hide glue is called "donkey hide glue" and cow hide glue is called "yellow gelatin". All editions of Pharmacopoeia of the people's Republic of China call donkey hide gelatin.
In 1841, Zhang, Liu and Si of Yuejiazhuang, Acheng Town, set up the "kuixingtang" donkey hide gelatin workshop, which produced donkey hide gelatin with woodcut instructions.
