Chayekou Town, subordinate to Laiwu District, Jinan City, Shandong Province, is located in the northernmost part of Laiwu District, bordering on the Qilu ancient Great Wall and Zhangqiu District in the north, Boshan District of Zibo City in the East, Kou Town and Miaoshan town in the south, and upstream town in the West. The town covers a total area of 174 square kilometers, with 35000 mu of arable land, including 93000 mu of mountainous areas, with jurisdiction over 60 administrative villages and 34695 people (2017).
Historical evolution
The town is named after chayekou village where the government is stationed. According to the village stele records, the village was built in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, because the site is in chayahekou (commonly known as chazhongkou), once known as chayakou. After the homonym into the tea industry mouth. At the end of Qing Dynasty, it belonged to shichengbao of BEIXIANG. In the early years of the Republic of China, it belonged to the seventh district (Xueye District). In the spring of 1941, it belonged to the Toutou district and the tea industry district of Laiwu (North) county. In 1942, the two districts were assigned to Zichuan county. At the end of the same year, the two districts merged into tea township. In October 1945, it returned to Laiwu County, which is still a tea industry area. In October 1946, the two districts merged and were called tea industry district. In March 1951, it was renamed the 11th district. In October 1955, it was renamed tea industry area. In March 1958, it was divided into tea industry and Yaoguan township. In October of the same year, it was changed into Jishan and Yaoguan communes. In February 1959, it was merged into Yaoguan commune (soon renamed as tea commune), which has jurisdiction over Yumen, Yaoguan, tea industry, Hualin, fashan and Gelao management areas. In April 1984, it was renamed tea industry office, which has jurisdiction over Yumen, Yaoguan, chayekou, Hualin, shangcha Township, 60 administrative villages and 67 natural villages. In October 1985, it was divided into tea industry town and Yaoguan town.
