Poyuzhen is located in the east of Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is under the jurisdiction of the economic and Technological Development Zone. It's in the southeast of Weihai City. It is adjacent to Gangxi town of Rongcheng City in the East, Qiaotou town of Huancui District in the south, Gushan town in the West and the Yellow Sea in the north. It covers an area of 73 square kilometers. The coastline is 14 kilometers long. It was originally moored in the countryside. On December 18, 1989, with the approval of Shandong Provincial People's government, Boyu town was established. Boyu town has 33 administrative villages.

On June 23, 1994, it was approved by LUZHENG Zi No. 113 and was transferred from Rongcheng City to Huancui District. On May 12, 2003, with the approval of Weihai Municipal People's government, Huancui District was put under the management of Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone. In 2014, Weihai City held a mobilization meeting for the development and construction project of port industrial service area. The meeting proposed that the eastern urban new area with a total area of about 20 square kilometers will be developed and constructed based on the xiaoyaogang area of Boyu town.

Zhao Xidian, member of the Standing Committee of Weihai municipal Party committee and executive vice mayor, pointed out at the meeting that the construction of port industrial service area is a new round of government strategic deployment, and the departments and units responsible for each specific single project should attach great importance to it and take their respective responsibilities. At present, what we need to do well is to give up energy and investment, invite experts at home and abroad to complete the planning consultation and demonstration in the first half of 2015, and complete the conceptual planning and design by the end of 2015

economic development

In 2010, the town's economic development mode has changed significantly. We have successfully completed more than 300 mu of land leveling work on both sides of Chengdu Dalian line, and started to plan 6000 mu of small watershed management project and 1000 mu of land consolidation project in songxujia village. The renovation tasks of 19 demonstration villages at district level were completed, and the domestic waste of each village was brought into the municipal unified management of the development zone.
