Shanggao Street

Shanggao street is 4 kilometers southeast of Tai'an City. It borders on Shengzhuang town in the East, daimiao street in the west, xujialou street in the South and Taiqian street in the north. With a total area of 34.5 square kilometers, it governs 20 villages and has a population of 121586 (2010).

Shanggao township was built in December 1985 and changed into a street in June 2002.

In May 2020, it will be selected into the list of incentive townships (towns, streets) for cultivated land protection in Shandong Province in 2019.

Historical relics

Shi's tomb in the territory is composed of the tomb of Shi Tianyi in the early Qing Dynasty and the Baofeng stele square showing his grandfather. There is a stone square and two stone tablets. The stone square has four pillars, three gates and three floors. The first one is "Rong en", the second one is "long Zhang's commendation", and the second one is "Gao Zhi" to the Tongfeng doctor, Shi Xue and Shi Ke Xue. Fang north, East and west of a monument, turtle fell flat head, for the Kangxi four years (1667) set up.

Famous specialty

Huangjiazhuang tofu is famous for its traditional products. Huangjiazhuang bean curd is made of high oxygen, low hardness, clean blistered beans, ground pulp, and traditional kneading method. It has the characteristics of fine pulp and juicy, tender and soft quality, white as snow, sweet taste, rich elasticity, and long cooking time.

Shanggao flower seedling planting base is one of the largest seedling and flower planting bases in Shandong Province, and it is a provincial characteristic agricultural science and technology park.

Famous people

Shi Tianyi (1641-1690) was born in Tai'an in the early Qing Dynasty. In the fourth year of Shunzhi (1647), he served as governor of Suizhou, and then successively served as right governor of Shaanxi, left governor of Shandong, and governor of Guangxi. During his term as Zuo Buzheng envoy of Shandong Province, he once presided over the reconstruction of Bixia temple, Nantianmen temple and daimiao temple on the top of Mount Tai.

On July 29, 2020, it will be included in the National Health township (county) naming list of 2017-2019 cycle.
