Zhuwu town

Zhuwu town is subordinate to Haiyang City, Yantai City, Shandong Province. It is located in the northern suburb of Haiyang City, with a total area of 199 square kilometers and jurisdiction over 68 natural villages with 50000 people. The town has a superior geographical advantage, Yanfeng first class road, 309 National Road running through, only 15 kilometers away from the center of Haiyang, about 100 kilometers away from Yantai, Weihai, Qingdao three open cities. Historical evolution

At the beginning of its establishment, the county belonged to Linsi township. In 1945, it was a high mountain area. Zhuwu township was established in October 1956, changed to Zhuwu commune in October 1958, and changed to Zhuwu Township in April 1984. Gaojia commune was set up in 1976 and Gaojia hometown was changed in 1984. In October 1995, four natural villages, Miaohou, zhaijiakuang, dangdao and chengjiazhuang, were assigned to Gaoxiang; ten natural villages, Taojiagou, xishuanma Island, shanglaobo, dongshuamadao, Xile village, liujiatuan, dongliujiatuan, suozijian, qingquankuang and xialaobo, were assigned to Zhuwu township. In early 1997, four natural villages in Gao's hometown, Miaohou, dangdao, chengjiazhuang and zhaijiakuang, were classified as Guocheng town. Zhuwu Township covers an area of 102 square kilometers and has a population of 31000. In December 2000, Gao's hometown and Zhu Wu's township were abolished, and Zhu Wu's town was established in the former administrative region of Gao's hometown and Zhu Wu's township. In 2002, Zhuwu town covers an area of 199.2 square kilometers, with 48700 people and 68 villages under its jurisdiction.

The origin of place names

In 1371, the surnames of Zhu and Wu moved to Jiancun village from Hongdong County, Shanxi Province, and named Zhu Wu after the surname of Zhu and Wu.
