Liugezhuang town
Liugezhuang town is located in the southeast of Haiyang City, adjacent to the Yellow Sea in the south. Yuhuang mountain in the North intersects Panshidian Town, Fengcheng street in the southwest, Fangyuan street in the West and Rushanzhai town in Rushan City in the East. It covers an area of 129.21 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 42017 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 56 administrative villages.
In July 2019, Liugezhuang town was selected into the list of national strong agricultural towns in 2019.

The town government is located in Gezhuang village, 120 ° 18 ′ E and 36 ° 46 ′ n. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south, with hills and valley plains in the north and flat land in the south.

The main mountains are Yuhuang mountain, Bodhisattva top, dongdougu, etc. Yuhuang mountain, 589.5 meters above sea level, is the highest peak in Haiyang.
Jurisdiction
In 1928, the county was divided into 12 districts, and Liugezhuang district was established. In February 1950, Liugezhuang district was changed into the Second District of Haiyang county. In September 1955, the Second District of Haiyang county was renamed Liugezhuang District of Haiyang county. In October 1956, the district was withdrawn and divided into Liugezhuang Township, Jianggezhuang Township, Huicun Township, Wali Township, Daxin Township and Fangli township. In September 1958, Liugezhuang people's commune was established. At the end of November of the same year, it was renamed Liugezhuang township.
Historical evolution
In song and Yuan Dynasties, Liugezhuang river was the boundary, Muping County in the East and Laiyang County in the West. In the Ming Dynasty, Ninghai Prefecture was in the East and Laiyang County in the West. In 1735, it belonged to Haiyang county. Liugezhuang district was established in 1928. It was changed to the Second District in February 1950. In September 1955, it was renamed Liugezhuang district. In October 1956, the district was withdrawn and the township was set up, including Liugezhuang, Jianggezhuang, Huicun, Wali, Daxinjia and Fangli. In September 1958, it was merged into Liugezhuang commune and renamed Liugezhuang township at the end of November of the same year. It was renamed Liugezhuang commune in April 1959, Liugezhuang District in August 1965, Liugezhuang commune in March 1968, Liugezhuang Township in April 1984 and Liugezhuang town in May 1994. Daxingjia commune was set up in 1962, and daxingjia town was changed in 1984. In 1996, daxingjia town covers an area of 49 square kilometers and has a population of 24000, covering 19 administrative villages including daxingjia, Liangjia, Fangli, huandai'an, Taoyuan, pangezhuang, yaotou, Gangbei, Xiaotan, Datuan, Qianshan, Nanzhuang, WaiDao, Zhangjiazhuang, shaojiazhuang, lengjiazhuang, dongjiazhuang, Xiaozhaizi and xiahetou; Liugezhuang town covers an area of 99 square kilometers and has a population of 38000, covering Liugezhuang and Zhouzhou Gezhuang, Rizhao Zhuang, jiangge Zhuang, Wangge Zhuang, dagoudian, yuanxia, Ta'er Zhuang, Minsheng, Jianping, Changsheng, Buhe, Yaojia Zhuang, Liujia Zhuang, caichunbo, Suntuan, wangjiabo, caojiabo, Buluo, Jiangjia, Dongshankou, Zhijia, pulaihe, qianyangtai, houyangtai, Heya, Guoge Zhuang, Sanjia, Liujia, Bajia, beiyuanniuzhuang, dongyuanniuzhuang, xiyuanniuzhuang 37 administrative villages, including qianwanghai, houwanghai, dongshaojia and Dujia. In December 2000, daxingjia town was abolished and merged into Liugezhuang town. In 2002, Liugezhuang town covers an area of 154 square kilometers, with 61100 people and 56 villages under its jurisdiction.

There are 3330 hectares of high-quality flat land suitable for planting pollution-free vegetables, and the fruits and vegetables produced are rated as "green food" by the state. The coastline stretches for 49 kilometers and is rich in mariculture resources. The Shandong Haiyang nuclear power plant, which is located in the town, has started the construction of the preliminary project.
