Evolution of organizational system
Nigou town is abbreviated as "nigou" because of the crisscross rivers and muddy roads in ancient times. Ni Gou town belongs to Yi County during the period of the Republic of China. After liberation, except Guozhuang, Zhaozhuang, gouquan, Wuzhuang and Daizhuang belong to Yi County, the rest belong to Lanling county. In 1956, it belonged to lanchengdian district.
