Tianheng town
Tianheng town is located in the east coast of Jimo District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province. It is adjacent to Bijia mountain system in the north and Tianheng Island provincial tourist resort in the south. It is surrounded by the sea in the East and West. The coastline is 26 kilometers long. It is named after the residence of Tianheng, king of Qi Dynasty in the late Qin Dynasty, and 500 righteous scholars. It has a history of more than 2000 years. There are 30 administrative villages in the town, with a permanent population of 128978 (in 2017), covering a total area of 336.91 square kilometers. With convenient land and sea transportation, it is 60 km away from Qingdao International Airport, 80 km away from Qingdao port, and only 10 km away from the national second class open port, nvdao port. The total length of trunk roads and sea ring roads in the town is 30 km. The newly planned Qingdao Binhai sightseeing Avenue crosses the territory for 13 km. After it is opened to traffic, the time from Tianheng town to the center of Qingdao will be reduced to 40 minutes.
In October 2019, Tianheng town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

Historical evolution
Tianheng town has a long history. As early as Qin Dynasty unified China, Tian Heng was subordinate to Qi county. At the end of the Qin Dynasty and the beginning of the Han Dynasty, Tian Heng was defeated and abandoned. After that, five hundred righteous men committed suicide on Tian Heng Island, which has been handed down for thousands of years.
In the Western Han Dynasty, it was subordinate to Gaoyu county. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Gaoyu county was abolished and then merged into Buqi county.
From 317 to 419 A.D., Jimo county was known as the Sixteen States of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. During this period, the subordination of Jimo county was changeable. It belonged to the later Zhao, the former Yan, the former Qin, the Eastern Jin and other states, but Tianheng town was still not a county.
During the northern and Southern Dynasties, Buqi county was abolished and then incorporated into Changguang county. In Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, song and Jin Dynasties, Tianheng town belonged to Jimo county.
At the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, Japanese pirates continued to invade China's coastal areas. Tianheng town became an important coastal defense area because it was adjacent to the open sea in the East, with crisscross harbors and islands. In 1402 (the fourth year of Jianwen in Ming Dynasty), it was assigned to qianhusuo of xiongya Garrison and ruled by the boundary. It was subordinate to aoshanwei and Zhili Laizhou Prefecture. In 1734, it was incorporated into Jimo county with Wei and Suo, and extended to the end of Qing Dynasty.
In the early years of the Republic of China, Tianheng town belonged to Jimo county. On June 1, 1939, the Japanese puppet regime was established, and Tianheng town belonged to "Jimo Township Office"
In 1943, the Anti Japanese democratic government led by the Communist Party of China divided Tianheng town into guijidong county.
At the beginning of the liberation war, Jimo county was divided into Jimo county and Jidong county. Tianheng town was a sub district of Wangcun village in Jidong County, which was called Wali Township and had jurisdiction over 48 administrative villages. In September 1945, the first party branch was secretly established in the village.
In March 1947, the Communist Party of China, namely the East County Committee, set up the Chanshan District Committee of the Communist Party of China, which was stationed in Wali village. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the Township under the jurisdiction of the district was established in February 1951. Tianheng town belongs to the seventh district (craggy mountain area), with jurisdiction over seven townships, namely Wali, Zhongcun, Bozi, Fangjia, Yangshan, Dashan and Buxi. In 1952, three townships, Zhaili, Huilong and craggy mountain, were added.
In March 1956, Tianheng town was under the jurisdiction of Wangcun district. The original area was re divided into Wali Township, Chanshan Township, hanjiatun Township and cuigezhuang township.
In August 1958, Chanshan was divided into Wali commune and Chanshan commune, directly under the leadership of Jimo county Party committee. Wali commune is located in Wali village, and Chanshan commune is located in xituigezhuang village.
In April 1961, Wali commune and Chanshan commune merged into Chanshan people's commune, which is located in Wali village.
In November 1969, the Revolutionary Committee of Chanshan people's commune was established.
On April 17, 1984, the Wali Township Committee and the Wali Township People's Government of Jimo county were established. They were stationed in Wali village and directly under the Jimo county government.
In February 1992, Wali township was renamed Tianheng town.
In May 1999, Jimo City established Tianheng Island provincial tourist resort, which included 18 villages in Tianheng Town, including Tianheng Island, Shangdong tou, Donglu Gezhuang, Xilu Gezhuang, Sujia Zhai, Hejia Zhai, Liujia Zhai, Lijia Zhai, Dongjia Zhai, nanyingzi, xianzibu, tuotuokou, Nanding Gezhuang, Beiding Gezhuang, yuyuzui, BeiChan mountain, Nanchan mountain and Shannan. The jurisdiction of Tianheng town was reduced to 30 administrative villages.
In September 2000, Tianheng Island Provincial Tourism Resort Working Committee of Jimo Municipal Committee of CPC was established, and in December, Tianheng Island Provincial Tourism Resort Management Committee was established.
In March 2006, Tianheng town co operated in Tianheng Island provincial tourist resort.
In October 2006, 18 village Party branches under the Party Working Committee of Tianheng Island provincial tourist resort were under the management of the Party committee of Tianheng town
Climate and environment
Tianheng town has a humid climate, with mountains, seas, islands, ports and beaches. The green coverage rate of the whole town is 33%. Many hills and woodlands are close to the sea, and the natural ecology is well protected. It is an excellent area for mountain and sea tourism and holiday development. Tianheng town is one of the important fishing towns in Qingdao. It is suitable for raising 20000 mu of beach and 48000 mu of shallow water.
