48 towns

48 Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Guangxin District, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, is located 37 kilometers south of Guangxin District, Shangrao City. During the reign of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1628-1644), the Ye family of Shexian County in Anhui province built a village here, named "poyangfan". During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Guangxin Prefecture took Fucheng as the center and divided the whole county into 70 "capitals" in the form of circular circle (just like the outer ring of the city). The nearest one around the county is "Yidu" (now Shaxi). Shishi belongs to the "three capitals" and Huanggu to the "eight capitals". Poyangfan was designated as the "48 capitals" and the "48 capitals" were adopted. Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to niaoqiao Township, the Sixth District. At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was divided into Ganxi, Tieshan and 48th districts successively; Dongfeng commune was established in 1958 (changed to Poyang the next year); 48th commune and Liyang commune were established in 1960; 48th commune was merged in 1964; 48th township was established after 1984; township was withdrawn and town was established on December 12, 1995.

In 2017, the administrative area of 48 towns was 60.41 square kilometers, with 22162 permanent residents.

Jurisdiction

It has jurisdiction over two neighborhood committees including Bajing road and Poyang, and five village committees including Beishan, gaomen, niaoqiao, Gaoyang and Liyang.

Historical evolution

After 1949, all previous district and township governments formed markets here. In 1958, the highway from Shangrao to Ganxi was completed, and the streets were widened at the same time. After 1980, Pingwu cement plant with an annual output of 5000 tons and waimen cement plant with an annual output of 3000 tons were built by using local mineral resources, becoming the leader of rural enterprises. 48 township is rich in coal resources. The high-quality anthracite produced by the coal mines run by counties, villages, joint and self-employed households is exported to many coastal towns in Zhejiang Province. The development of cement and coal mining industry has led to the development of transportation, commercial services and other industries, and further prosperity of the market. In May 1987, a joint delegation of the world bank, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Rural Policy Research Office of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee made an inspection tour here. In June 2015, Hefei Fuzhou high-speed railway was put into operation, and wufushan station was set up here, ending the history of no railway in Nanxiang area of Guangxin district.
