Zengtian Town, subordinate to Le'an County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the south of Le'an County, adjacent to Nancun Township in the East, Zhaojie town in the south, Niutian town in the West and Aoxi town in the north, with a total area of 111.72 square kilometers. Zengtian town has 10 administrative villages and 125 villager groups. In late 2018, the registered residence of the town was 21 thousand and 600.

Historical evolution

Before liberation, they belonged to Daipi and Zengtian townships. In 1933, the two villages of Zhoufang and Xiaochi successively established Soviet governments.

At the beginning of the people's Republic of China, there were DaiBei, Zengtian, Zhoufang, Donghu, Yaoqian and other townships in the territory, which belonged to the people's Government of Le'an district. Zengtian commune was established in 1958, and Zengtian commune was changed into Zengtian Township in 1984.

In March 2002, the township was removed to build a town, with 10 village committees under its jurisdiction. Tangyuan village committee and Donghu village committee were removed to establish a new Donghu village committee.

hydrology

Tongluo River, a tributary of Wujiang River system, runs through quanzengtian town in the East and West. There are 10 small (secondary) reservoirs and more than 100 Xiaopi dams in the town.

History and culture

In Donghu village of Zengtian Town, there is a set of chicken beak and pig beak dance. The local people call it "gunnuo God", which is a form of Nuo dance. "Gunnuo God" is an ancient sacrificial ceremony passed down from generation to generation in the clan of the Yang family, praying for the gods to protect the peace. It has a unique style, strict rules and no external transmission. After Nuo God rolling, it gradually evolved into a folk entertainment literary activity, consisting of 18 masks and 12 people, including eight programs, namely "chicken beak", "pig beak", "Bancha", "singing drama", "ghost", "Bull Demon King", "seven stars" and "stepping on firecrackers". Every year on the second day of the first month of the lunar calendar, sixteen horses return to their original position.
