Tangpu town belongs to Yifeng County, Yichun City, Jiangxi Province, China. It is located in the east of Yifeng county. It was called Xin'an in ancient times. Xin'an township was established in the sixth year of the Song Dynasty (981). Tangpu was changed from Xin'an to district and township successively. In November 1994, Tangpu township was removed from township to town. It is adjacent to Xinzhuang Town in the East, Chengtang town in the west, Shanggao County in the South and Huaqiao Township in the north. It is 9 km long from east to west and 16 km wide from north to south. The town government is 23 km away from the county seat and 114 km away from Nanchang, the provincial capital. The town has a land area of 115 square kilometers and a permanent population of 21804 (2017). The town has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages and a market town neighborhood committee.
Evolution of organizational system
Tangpu town was called Xin'an Township in ancient times until Qing Dynasty. During the period of the Republic of China, it was the Sixth District and the third district. Tangpu Township and Jiangzhou Township were set up in the territory. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was the Tangpu district. There are six townships including Quxi, Pucheng, Yonghe, Shayuan, Guanxi and Daoxiang. In 1956, he became Tangpu and Jiangzhou townships. In 1958, it was renamed people's commune. Later, Tangpu and Jiangzhou two townships were divided and combined, and the commune had jurisdiction over production teams and production teams. in the winter of 1983, the commune resumed its name of township and set up villages below the township. The scale of the township remained basically unchanged. In November 1994, Tangpu township was set up as a town. The town has a total of 19 administrative villages and a market town neighborhood committee, 102 natural villages, 170 villager groups, 1 town orchard farm, 2 town forest farms, and 42 enterprises and institutions directly under the town. There are 7815 households and 24226 people in the town (including 6772 non-agricultural population), all of them are Han nationality.

Tangpu town is located in the east of Yifeng County, adjacent to Xinzhuang Town in the East, Chengtang town in the west, Shanggao County in the South and Huaqiao Township in the north. Tangpuji Town, the seat of the town government, is located at the intersection of Yiyang highway and Shangfeng highway, 23 kilometers away from the county seat and 114 kilometers away from Nanchang, the provincial capital.

Animal resources
Leopard: it was still active in the 1960s. In 64, four leopards were shot and killed in Jiangzhou. Now it is extinct.
