Leixi town

Leixi town is located in the southern suburb of Guixi City, Jiangxi Province, 9 kilometers away from the urban area. It is adjacent to Liukou town in the East, Tangwan and Jintun town in the south, Luohe town in the West and Xiongshi town in the north. The administrative area is 44 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages, 53 villager groups and 69 natural villages. The total population is 20100 (2017). Historical evolution

In 1984, it was renamed Leixi township.

In 1958, it belonged to Leixi, Luotang, Fugang, Liangxi and other brigades of Gaofeng commune.

Luotang commune was established in 1961.

In 1951, it belonged to duangang, Luotang, Fugang, Leixi and other townships in Luohe district.

On January 4, 2015, with the approval of Jiangxi Provincial People's government, it was agreed to cancel Leixi Township and establish Leixi town.

Leixi is rich in gypsum resources, with a total proven reserves of 60 million tons. It is the largest gypsum deposit in East China.
