Nanfeng town is a town under the jurisdiction of Duchang County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. It is located in the southeast of Duchang County, bordering Poyang Lake in the south, yinbaohu Township in Poyang County in the East, Poyang Lake in the south, Xiangxi Township in the west, Zhongguan town and Shishan Township in the north. It covers an area of 35 square kilometers and has a population of 16550 (2017). There is a highway to Zhongguan street in the north, connecting with Jinghu highway.
Historical evolution
Nanfeng town has a long history. According to archaeological excavation, there was human reproduction in the Neolithic age. People use stone tools to engage in primitive agriculture, fishing and hunting. In the Shang Dynasty, the ancestors of Duchang people were fishing, hunting, farming and recuperating on this land. In the sixth year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (201 BC), Xiaoyang county was established. However, the vicissitudes of life, along with the ancient Peng Li Ze moved south, thousands of miles of fertile fields gradually become thousands of hectares of blue waves, so the ancient county Xiaoyang was abandoned in the second year of Yongchu (421) of Emperor Wu of Song Dynasty. In the fifth year of Wude (622) of Tang Dynasty, Duchang County was restored, so the story of "sinking Xiaoyang and floating Duchang" has been handed down to this day.
Nanfeng town is one of the four ancient towns in Duchang County. During the period of the Republic of China, Nanfeng township was established. On the eve of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to Nanxi Township, a lakeside district. At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to five townships of Huangpo, Baishui, Nanfeng, Wusha and Gulou in the Sixth District. Nanfeng district was established in 1952, covering three townships of Nanfeng, Xiangxi and wanhu. In 1959, it was renamed Nanfeng people's commune. In 1968, Nanfeng and Xiangxi were merged into Nanfeng people's commune. In 1973, Xiangxi people's commune was separated again. In 1984, Nanfeng people's commune was changed into Nanfeng township. In 1993, the township was withdrawn to build a town.
Geography and climate
Nanfeng town is a town under the jurisdiction of Duchang County, Jiujiang City. It is adjacent to Pengze Lake (mouth) in the north and the south of the Yangtze River. It borders Xingzi in the West and lives in the east of Lushan Mountain. It connects with Boyang in the East. It looks to Yongxiu, Xinjian, Nanchang and Yugan in the South and is next to Poyang Lake. Geography
Nanfeng town is located in the north of Jiangxi Province, 116 ° 2 ′ 24 ″ e to 116 ° 36 ′, 28 ° 50 ′ 28 ″ n to 29 ° 38 ′. Duchang landform is dominated by hills and lakeside plain, with wide water area and low mountains in some parts. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south, with Dagang wangdun fold uplift belt as the axis and inclined to the northwest and Southeast. The highest point in the territory is Sanjiangyuan in the northeast, with an altitude of 647.3 meters, and the lowest point in the lakeside area is only 10 meters. From northeast to southwest, there are low mountains, high hills, low hills, plains and lakes. Duchang has developed water system, river ports, a total of 39 large and small river ports, with a total length of 359.6 km.
