Fenglin town is located in the middle section of Chang Jiu industrial corridor, in the northwest suburb of De'an County. Jiangxi Guangdong Expressway, Beijing Kowloon Railway and de Bai highway pass through the town. Historical evolution

In 1956, it belonged to Shizi and Huang (nvyong) townships, and Shizi commune was established in 1958. In 1968, Fenglin and Lutang were merged into Fenglin brigade. In 1964, it was changed into county improved seed farm. In 1971, the Institute of Agricultural Sciences was established. In 1981, Shizi commune was renamed Huang (nvyong) commune, and in 1984, it was renamed Huang (nvyong) township. On March 10, 1995, Fenglin town was set up to govern the area of the former agricultural science institute, with two brands and one set of people. In 1997, Fenglin Town, with an area of 9 square kilometers and a population of 3000, governed Fenglin, Lutang and fanshangwang administrative villages; Huang (nvyong) Township, with an area of 43 square kilometers and a population of 9000, governed Huang (nvyong), Qiaotou, Baiyun, Dafan, Yitang, Wushi, Sixi, Zijing and Shanghu administrative villages. In 2002, Huang (nvyong) township was abolished and transferred to Fenglin town. It governs 12 village committees and 95 villager groups in Fenglin, Lutang, fanshangwang, Huangtong, Qiaotou, Baiyun, Dafan, Yitang, wushimen, Sixi and Shanghu.
