Changyi Township, under the jurisdiction of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the lower reaches of Ganjiang River and the West Bank of Poyang Lake, with a total area of 55.9 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over yaotou and Changliang neighborhood committees, youtang, Yaoxi, Gaozhou, liangmen, pingmen, Changbei, Caohui, Changnan, Tuanjie, Yaohe, Wuyu 11 administrative villages and Caohu, shanghekou 2 agricultural farms, with a total population of 19604 (2017). It is 50 kilometers away from Nanchang City by land, more than 30 kilometers away from Changbei Airport, Beijing Kowloon Railway and Changjiu expressway. The cement highway leads directly to the seat of the township government. The waterway is close to the Ganjiang River and connects with the Yangtze River through Poyang Lake, so the traffic is convenient. Changyi township is rich in resources, vast in territory and superior in ecological environment. The lake area under its jurisdiction is one of the main habitats for migratory birds in Poyang Lake. There are thousands of rare migratory birds and forests. There is a national wild bird protection observation station in Poyang Lake, which is very convenient for bird watching. The territory is rich in historical and cultural deposits. Scholars and poets of all ages have many chants. The name of Changyi comes from the Neolithic site of Hongshan culture, Luyuan Temple of Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, and youtang city built by Liu He, the "king of Changyi" in the Western Han Dynasty.
Historical evolution
Changyi township has a long history and culture. Scholars and poets in the past dynasties often chant about it. In addition, there is the Neolithic site of Hongshan Culture and Luyuan Temple of Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. Changyi is named after the youtang city built by Liu He, the "king of Changyi" in the Western Han Dynasty. Youtang village has the tomb of the king of Changyi and the ancient city site of the king of Changyi.
In 1958, it belonged to Lianwei commune, changed to Changyi commune in 1960, and established the township in 1984. In 1997, with an area of 80 square kilometers and a population of 17000, it has jurisdiction over yaotou Street neighborhood committee and nine administrative villages, namely, Changnan, Tuanjie, youtang, Yaohe, Yaoxi, Liangping, Gaozhou, Changbei and Caohui.
On March 4, 1999, Changliang township was abolished and assigned to Changyi township (GaN min Zi No. 52 reply).
Changliang township is located in the northeast of Changling Town, on the lakeside plain. Le (Hua) Chang (Yi) highway can reach Nanchang directly through Changyi bridge. In 1953, it was a state-owned Changyi reclamation farm. In 1964, it was separated and renamed Changyi rice improved variety demonstration breeding farm. In 1970, it was incorporated into Lianwei commune. In 1974, it was restored to Changyi improved variety farm. In 1984, it was rebuilt into Changliang township. In 1997, it covers an area of 10.2 square kilometers and has a population of 9000. It governs Wuyu administrative village and Caohu branch. The township government is located in Changyi street, 60 kilometers away from the urban center. In 1999, Changliang township was abolished and assigned to Changyi township.

In 2015, the total agricultural output value was 210 million yuan, an increase of 8.9% over the same period of last year; the annual per capita net income of farmers reached 8800 yuan, an increase of 10% over the same period of last year; the fiscal revenue was 14.949 million yuan, accounting for 107.5% of the annual tasks. Among them, 9.194 million yuan was completed by the local tax, accounting for 81.4% of the annual tasks; 5.755 million yuan was completed by the state tax, accounting for 221.3% of the annual tasks.
