Guan Zhuang Township, belonging to Shanghang County, Longyan City, Fujian Province, is located at the northwest end of Shanghang county. It is the junction and distribution center of Changting, Shanghang and Wu Pingsan county. It is one of the four major market sites in Shanghang County, with an area of 119.94 square kilometers, and 35033 registered residence population (2018). It has 18 administrative villages (October 2019), and is located at the source of Ting water, which is rich in Camellia oleifera.

Historical evolution

Guanzhuang was established in the 20th year of yuanshunzong (1352). In the late Qing Dynasty, it was changed to Guanzhuang. In ancient times, with the help of the Tingjiang River, where water transportation was well developed, officials from Tingzhou and Chaozhou had to stop and stay here. At that time, there was a reception post at lanwuwei to accommodate officials, so it was named Guanzhuang.
