Peifeng town

Peifeng town is located in the northeast of Yongding District, Longyan City, Fujian Province. It is located in the upstream of Yongding River, adjacent to Xinluo District, 22 kilometers away from Longyan central city. It is adjacent to Zhongzhong Town, Xinluo District in the East, Kan town in the west, Fushi town and Longtan town in the south, Hongfang town and Dongxiao town in Xinluo District in the north.

In 2017, the administrative area was 11507 hectares, with a permanent population of 35314.

Township

There are 11 administrative villages and local websites. Han nationality, mainly speaking Hakka dialect, some villages also speak "jinjinxue" dialect.

"Jinjinxue" is a language praised by the local people as precious as gold. Different from Hakka, Longyan and Minnan dialects, it is a dialect with Minnan accent.

Historical evolution

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to Toyota. In the Republic of China, it was Peifeng township. At the beginning of the people's Republic of China, it was peikan district. In April 1957, Peifeng and Tiandi townships were established. In October 1958, it was incorporated into kanshi and Tiandi people's communes.

In June 1961, Peifeng people's commune was set up from kanshi people's commune. In March 1965, it was incorporated into kanshi people's commune. In May 1984, it belongs to kanshi town. In June 1993, Peifeng township was set up from kanshi town. In December 1994, Peifeng township was set up from township.

Hongyuan village is located in the south of Peifeng Town, Yongding, 1km away from the market town. It is a big village with more than 4700 people. In 2006, it was designated as a demonstration village for the construction of new socialist countryside by the county.

Peifeng town is rich in underground resources, mainly producing coal, limestone, iron, manganese, lead, zinc and aluminum, with proven coal reserves of 150 million tons. Human history
