Caoxi street is located in the southeast of Xinluo District, Longyan City, Fujian Province, southwest of the city, 3 kilometers away from the district government. Covering an area of 130 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages, 7 community neighborhood committees, and the office is located in Xialiao. National Highway 319 runs through the whole territory.

Caoxi town is located in the southwest corner of the central city, bordering Tieshan town and Yongfu town of Zhangping City in the East, Zhongzhong town in the south, Dongxiao town in the West and xipi town in the north. It is an important town in the Central Soviet Area in the west of Fujian Province. The number of revolutionary base villages ranks first in the whole area. It is a famous old area, mining area and new urban area.
With a total area of 130.85 square kilometers, the town has 19 administrative villages, 7 community neighborhood committees, 43 natural villages and 95 villager groups, with a total population of 59312 (in 2010); the town Party committee has 2 general Party branches (Longlin Party branch and Chunchi Party branch), 37 party branches and 1207 Party members (including 314 female party members).
Historical evolution
In the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Tieshi Township, including Dongshan, shifanling, caikeng, Huangzhuang in the south of Fangli, and qilai in Shangping Shangshe. From the Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China, it was the whole territory of Dongshan society and part of Makeng society and Chenpi society. During the period from July 18 to 21 of the Republic of China, the Soviet government of Makeng district was established, which governed qilai, Makeng and other townships; the Soviet government of Dongshan District was established, which governed Shifen, Dongshan, DONGBANG, Futang, caikeng, Wangzhuang, Kengtou and other townships; the Soviet government of ShanMa district was established, which governed Dongshan and Makeng; the Soviet government of Jiaokeng district was established, which governed jingshe, Shizhong (now Zhangping), Zhongjia, Huangtian and other townships; From April 10 to October 27, the Soviet government of Nanfu district was established and stationed in Zhongjia.
In the 22nd year of the Republic of China, Caoxi and Lianshan townships belonged to Xichen District, while Tianhe (qilai) and Dongfu (caikeng and Yueshan) belonged to the Fifth District. The next year is the first district. In March of the 26th year of the Republic of China, it was the joint protection of Caoxi and Lianshan townships in the first district, and the joint protection of Tianhe and Dongfu townships in the second district. In the 27th year of the Republic of China, it was also the joint guarantor of caolinian Township, with jurisdiction over 10 guarantors. In December of the 30 years of the Republic of China, it includes Shi'an, Shi Yu, Yue Shan, Cao Wei, Xia Liao, Shui Tang and Xi Zhongbao in Cao Lian township; Ma Lai, Wang Keng, Dong Shan, Dong Bang, Cai Keng and Fu Tangbao in Dong'an township. The following year also included zhongjiabao, who was cut into Xianghe Township from Zhangping county.
After the 33rd year of the Republic of China, the jurisdiction was Dongshan, wangkeng, DONGBANG, Houyu, Shuitang, Xialiao, Xizhong, Yueshan, caikeng, Malai, Futang, Houzhang and shianbao in caolinian Township, zhongjiabao in Xianghe Township, and Tianhe (4) and Dongfu (5) in the second district.
In November 1949, it belonged to Xichen district and governed Caoxi, Yuefu, Shifen, ShanMa, Zhongjia village and Pingwei of Shuangping village. In 1956, it was attached to the urban area, with jurisdiction over Xishan, Shifen, ShanMa and Zhongjia townships. In 1957, it was divided into Xishan and Zhongfen townships. In 1958, Xishan commune and Zhongfen commune were established. In 1958, it was incorporated into Chengguan commune and set up Xishan and Zhongfen management areas. In 1959, it was a suburb commune. In June 1961, it was separated from Chengjiao commune and set up Caoxi commune, which has jurisdiction over qilai, Makeng, Wangzhuang, Fucai, Yueshan, Xiyang, Caowu, Xialiao, Shuitang, Huangkeng, Pingwei, DONGBANG, Dongshan, Wuxing, Shifen, Kengtou 16 production brigade, 82 production brigade and Zhongjia, xiajingshe, Huangyang, yangmeiping, maotaokeng, shangjinyang, kesongling 8 production brigade, 21 production brigade of Zhongjia commune. In 1965, the two communes merged into Caoxi commune.
In July 1984, Caoxi township was established. In 1987, it covers an area of 130.23 kilometers and has a total population of 22148 people, including 8211 non-agricultural people. It governs 13 villages and 93 resident groups. The township government is located in caoxiwei, 4 kilometers away from the urban area. In 1990, the township was set up. In 1997, with an area of 130 square kilometers and a population of 24000, it has jurisdiction over 19 village committees including Caoxi, Xialiao, Xiyang, Shuitang, Pingwei, Yueshan, Fucai, Kengtou, Wangzhuang, qilai, Makeng, Shifen, DONGBANG, Dongshan, Huangkeng, Ketao, Zhongjia, Huangyang and Jingyang.

With the construction of the central city moving to the West and expanding to the south, Caoxi town has become the core area of the central city, undertaking nearly 50% of the municipal projects of the central city, with obvious location advantages; National Highway 319, provincial highway Weihe, Longzhang expressway, Longyan Avenue and Longteng road run through the whole area, and it is an important throat town from West Fujian to Xiamen Special Economic Zone and other coastal areas; in Longyan, West Fujian Province, Caoxi town is located in the west of Fujian Province Caoxi street, Xinluo District, the city workers' Cultural Palace, Dongshan Branch of the city first hospital, Longyan technician college, Meilun eco city and other key projects are in full swing.
