Cizhou Town, located in the east of the county, is the seat of Cixian people's government. The town people's government is located in the north of the east section of Cizhou road. It is adjacent to Gaoyu town and Linzhang County in the East, lucunying Township and xiguyi Township in the west, Jiangwu town in the South and Guanglu town in the north, with a total area of 104.3 square kilometers and a permanent resident population of 176844 (2017). The vast majority of them are Han nationality, and the minorities include Hui nationality and Manchu nationality. It has jurisdiction over 18 communities, 1 street and 41 village committees.

In October 2019, Cizhou town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

Evolution of organizational system

After liberation in October 1945, Fuyang town was set up and later changed into a district. Chengguan town was established in April 1954. It was incorporated into Nanlai village commune in August 1958. Chengguan commune was established in April 1961. In April 1965, it was renamed Chengguan town. In April 1989, Chengguan town was changed into Cizhou town. In February 1996, nankaihe, donghuaishu and beilai villages were merged. In 1999, it was designated as the pilot town of comprehensive reform of small towns in Handan city.
