Purple mud town

Located in the northeast of Longhai District, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, Zini town is located at the estuary of Jiulong River, the second largest river in Fujian Province. It looks at Shima and Haicheng in the South and jiaomei in the north. It is 8 km away from National Highway 324, 6 km away from Longhai station of Xiamen Zhangzhou Expressway and 11.5 nautical miles away from Xiamen in the East.

Originally known as Haiying people's commune of Longhai County, Zini town was renamed as Zini people's commune in 1958, township in 1984 and town in 1992.

Purple mud town is composed of two islands: Hu Mao island and Wu Jiao Island, surrounded by south, central and North ports of Kowloon; Hu Mao island is 47.5 square kilometers, Wu Jiao island is 20.5 square kilometers; Wu Jiao island is 6 square kilometers, which is listed as purple mud sub district of new urban area of Longhai City.

With a total coastline of 55.6 km, it is the second largest hometown of overseas Chinese in Longhai, nine Haidao towns in the province and the first batch of key (satellite) towns in Zhangzhou.

The Qing Dynasty is the 28th capital of Longxi County. Purple mud is located in the downstream of Beixi and Xixi of Jiulong River, with a drainage area of 14700 square kilometers. The downstream river is wide, stable, navigable and rich in water.
