In the 33rd year of the Republic of China, qianting was under the jurisdiction of the third district and implemented the Baojia system. Within the jurisdiction of qianting Town, there were Wenshan, Louxia, Tinglin, qianting, Xiawei (zhuangcuo), qiaozitou, Jiangkou, Qingsha, guogang, Luoyun and hounei 11 guarantees, which were under the jurisdiction of Louxia, qianting and Jiangkou. Qianjiang township was merged with Lindong township (LindaI, dongban) and Maping township to form Qianping Township, and Maping township was set up by the township office.
In the early days of the founding of new China, there were six townships in qianting Town, namely qianting market, zhuangcuo, Louxia, Jiangkou, Tianzhong and Wenshan, under the jurisdiction of the Fifth District (Fotan District).
In October 1956, qianting market and zhuangcuo were merged into qianting Township, and Wenshan was merged downstairs.
In March 1958, it was merged into three townships: qianting, Qiaogang and Liuxia.
In September 1958, it became a commune, belonging to the front Pavilion management area, Qiaogang management area and Liuxia management area of Fotan commune.
In 1961, qianting commune was set up with 13 production teams, including Dashe, xuzai, zhuangcuo, Luoyun, Tianzhong, qiaozaitou, guogang, Qisha, Jiangkou, Houcai, Liuxia, Dingcheng and Wenshan.
In September 1984, communes were changed into townships, brigades into administrative villages, and townships into towns in February 1992.
Qianjiang township was established in 1940, changed its name to qianting Township in 1949, changed its management area to Futan commune in 1958, established qianting commune in 1961, changed its Township in 1984 and changed its town in 1990.

geographical environment
geographical position
Qianting town is 18.87 km long from north to south, 10.66 km wide from east to west, and 18 km long in coastline. Adjacent to Xiamen Special Economic Zone and across the sea from Taiwan, the provincial highway Zhangdong line, the county highway gangfo line and the planned coastal passage run through the whole territory. It is the location of Zhangzhou coastal Volcano National Geopark, the first national geological and geomorphic Volcano Park in China.
climate
Qianting town is located in the basic volcanic eruption zone of Paleozoic coastal late second period. The volcanic ash left behind causes purple black soil. It has a subtropical marine monsoon climate with an average annual temperature of 21 ℃ and no frost all year round. The average annual rainfall is 1338 mm. The annual sunshine is 2116 hours. However, the seasonal rainfall is uneven. There are many storms from July to September, and the rainfall from October to next February is less. The northern half of the hilly area is rich in mountain springs, which converge into Liuxia River, Yangwei River (flowing into shiguopi reservoir) and guogang River (flowing into Jiangkou Bay). There are three streams in the middle, which flow into Fotan Bay and Jiangkou Bay respectively. There is no stream in Jingwei peninsula. In the east of Jiangkou Bay, there are Jiangkou Bay and Houcai Bay. There are large tidal flats and shallow water for aquaculture. This has resulted in an economic structure in which agriculture dominates the northern half and aquaculture dominates the southern half.
infrastructure
Since the founding of the people's Republic of China, counties and townships have built water conservancy projects, benefiting from two medium-sized reservoirs, shiguopi and chilanxi, diverting water to coastal villages to solve the problem of agricultural water use. Xiacang reservoir (small type 1) is located in the upper reaches of guogangxi river. It was built in May 1956. The reservoir covers 220 mu of cultivated land and 36 residents have moved to Dingcheng. The total storage capacity is 1.81 million cubic meters. The main canal is 0.1 km long, the left main canal is 5 km long, and the right main canal is 4 km long. Irrigate 3600 mu of farmland in Hong Kong, Luoyun and Tianzhong.
Xinling reservoir, located in the upper reaches of Liuxia River, was built in December 1964, with a total capacity of 110000 cubic meters, irrigating 600 mu of farmland in Liuxia village.
Shiguopi reservoir (medium-sized), built in the county, was completed in March 1959 with a total capacity of 15.3 million cubic meters. The center of the reservoir is in Maping Xiandu and extends to Liuxia village of qianting town. It supplies water to Dashe, Weizi, zhuangcuo, qiaozitou and other villages through channels.
Chilanxi reservoir (medium-sized), built in the county, was built in November 1966. The reservoir center is at the suburb of Baishui town in Longhai and extends to Wenshan village. The channel diverts water to Dashe, zhuangcuo and other villages.
Traffic situation
Zhangdong provincial road passes through the town. Once known as the "bottleneck", Fengkui Douling (in this town) has been downsloped and widened, the highway grade has been improved, and the cement pavement is being laid along the whole line (the cement pavement from Fengkui Douling to Futan is basically completed). The Northeast gateway of Zhangpu has become a thoroughfare. Zhangdong line divides a new road to the East through Dashe village, qianting, and enters Longhai Longjiao township to Daomei economic development zone through Tianzhong. Posts and telecommunications, finance, power facilities, a 350000 volt substation. There is a telecommunication building with 6500 telephone exchanges and 4695 installed units. One bank business office and one rural credit cooperative will be connected with the whole province, and the electronic transfer will arrive in three days. Education and medical facilities.
There are 3 junior middle schools, 5 teaching buildings, 56 classrooms, 3 comprehensive buildings, 1460 students and 121 teaching staff in the town. tourist resources
Qianting town has special geological landform, peculiar natural landscape and abundant coastal tourism resources. The ancient volcanic zone with Linjinyu as the center has high scientific research, science and education, tourism and ornamental value. Zhangzhou coastal volcanic landform National Geopark, one of the first batch of National Geoparks in China, is in the land and sea area near Jiangkou Village, qianting Town, and is under construction. Linjinyu Volcano National Geopark has a coastline of 18 kilometers, starting from Qisha bay at the junction of Longhai City in the north, passing through Xiangshan Peninsula, Jiangkou Bay, Yandun mountain and Houcai bay to Zhengwei Peninsula, including national first-class and national super class coastal beaches. Based on the medium and long-term development requirements of tourist attractions, qianting town plans to develop and construct Linjinyu Volcano National Geopark in three phases according to the experts' suggestions and the target of "based on xiazhangquan, facing Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, expanding the central and western regions, and promoting to the world". Taking Linjinyu (volcanic island) as the main body, Jiangkou Bay Beach, Jiangkou queen Shuangrufeng, Nanding Island, Qisha, Xiangshan and other scenic spots as the hinterland, the project will build a tourist attraction integrating ancient volcanic landform, seaside scenery, bathing beach, tourist resort, etc., with a planning area of 10 square kilometers. Geological experts from Beijing, Guangdong, Nanjing, Xiamen and other places have been invited to demonstrate for many times, which was approved at the 16th National Geoscience Research Association and annual geological meeting.
Since 2001, qianting town has successively introduced Rongsheng enterprise group of Shishi City and Jinan garden development and construction group to develop Linjinyu. The project is planned to be constructed in three phases, with an initial investment of 100 million yuan, and some projects have been completed.
