Tangtou village, where the Township People's government is located, is 58 kilometers away from the county. Under the jurisdiction of Tangtou, Tanglong, Lingjiao, Gezhong, caochun, Jishan, Fushan 7 administrative villages, 60 villager groups.

Historical evolution
The name of Tangtou originated from the establishment of Tangtou society in the Qing Dynasty. Because there are Tangquan (Hot Springs) in this area, Lingjiao (tangling) and Tanglong nearby, it is located in the first flush of the county leading to tangling, Tanglong and other hot springs, so it is called "Tangtou". Tangtou is located at the junction of Dehua and Youxi County, which was developed earlier. Tang Wei pass was set up at the foot of the ridge in the Song Dynasty. It flourished from the Ming Dynasty to the middle of the Qing Dynasty. From the 7th year of Xuande to the 11th year of Zhengde, an iron smelting furnace was built at the end of the bridge pavilion in Tangtou. It has been found that there are 13 ancient kiln sites of Ming and Qing Dynasties in Tangtou area, which is one of the areas where ancient porcelain industry is concentrated in Dehua County. In the song and Ming Dynasties, it belonged to tangquanshangtuan and tangquanxiatuan, and in the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to meishangli (part of tangquanli).
From the Republic of China to the early days of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to Geling Township, the fourth district (Shangyong) in 1950, the Sixth District (Gekeng) in 1951, changed to Shangyong District in 1956, and then to Gekeng District in 1958; in October 1958, Lingjiao and Gezhong belonged to Gekeng commune, while Jishan and Tangtou belonged to Shangyong commune; in 1961, Tangtou, Jishan and Fushan were demolished from Shangyong commune, Lingjiao, Gezhong and caochun were demolished from Gekeng commune, and Lingjiao was demolished to add value In 1984, it was changed into Tangtou township.
Climate and environment
Tangtou township is high in the southeast and low in the northwest, with mountains more than 1000 meters in the south. Fushan in the South and Jishan and caochun in the East are between 900 and 950 meters above sea level, while Lingjiao and Tanglong in the northwest are only between 330 and 400 meters above sea level. The main climate features: long summer without extreme heat, short winter with severe cold, obvious rainy season and dry season; both marine and continental climate. The frost free period is about 330 days, with an average annual rainfall of 173mm and an average annual temperature of 16-18 ℃.

Tangtou township is rich in natural resources such as forest, water and mineral resources. The mountain forest area of the township is 140000 mu (including 15000 mu of Phyllostachys pubescens), the forest coverage rate is 77.7%, ranking the top five in the county; the timber volume is 701000 m3, mainly concentrated in Tanglong, Gezhong and Lingjiao villages. The territory is rich in water resources. There are Lingjiao Daxi running through the middle, Dazhang river at the junction of Gezhong and Chunmei Township, and Xiadian river flowing from Jishan to Gekeng. The river flows from southeast to north with a large drop. The water resources available for development are more than 4000 kW, Guibin I Hydropower Station, Guibin II hydropower station, Gezhong Houxi III hydropower station, fuze hydropower station, Banling hydropower station and Jihu hydropower station have been built. At present, hanyao hydropower station is under preparation. The total installed capacity of the whole township is nearly 3600 kW. All of them are connected with the county. The power grid transformation has been completed and the power supply is sufficient. The territory is rich in mineral resources, such as kaolin from Lingjiao, Fushan, Jishan, and chituzhai of Tangtou, with large reserves and good quality; iron from Tangtou, qidinghu, Qiucheng, Baishi; yellow iron from Gezhong; quartzite from Lingjiao; lead and zinc from Longtou of Tangtou; lead and manganese from Jishan, etc.

In 2004, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the township was 57.4 million yuan, the total financial income of the township was 1.1741 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 4164 yuan; the total grain output of the township was 3400 tons, the total meat output was 800 tons, and the fruit output was 1000 tons; the existing orchard area was 9600 mu, mainly including citrus reticulata, Dehua pear, chestnut, Diospyros persimmon, early ripening peach and other varieties.
