Junkou town is located in the south of Jianning County, 27 kilometers away from the county. It has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages. Ningsan highway transit. General situation of villages and towns
Junkou town is located in the south of Jianning County in the west of Fujian Province, adjacent to Taining and Mingxi counties in the East, Ninghua County in the south, Yixiang Township and Jinxi Township in the West and North, respectively. It is 25 kilometers away from the county. The provincial road Fulian line and Xiuli line pass through the county. The main source of Fujian mother river is in the south of Yanfeng mountain. The town governs 13 villages, 1 neighborhood committee, 144 villager groups, with a population of 17258. The town covers an area of 306 square kilometers, with 388000 mu of forest land and 29500 mu of cultivated land.
Historical evolution
Junkou town is an old revolutionary base area. During the second Civil Revolutionary War, Junkou District Committee and Soviet government of the Communist Party of China were established in November 1932. Eight townships under its jurisdiction successively established Soviet regime and mass organizations. Junkou district was established in 1956, the commune was established in 1958, and the township was changed in 1984. In 1997, it had an area of 306 square kilometers and a population of 17000.
