Zhiping She nationality township is located in the southwest of Ninghua. Zhiping, formerly known as sibeiling, was founded in 1944 and renamed as Zhiping people's commune in 1958. In October 2000, Zhiping She nationality township was established by withdrawing Zhiping township. Zhiping has a large number of talents, including one Tanhua, five Jintu, and three Juren. Zeng wanbiao, former deputy commander of Jiangsu provincial military region and commander of Nanjing Police region, and Lai Linzhi, who was awarded the rank of Air Force Colonel, were born and grew up in Zhiping.
In 2017, the township governs 12 villages, 100 villager groups, and 14131 people in 3621 households. The population of She nationality in the township is 4725 in 992 households, accounting for 33.4% of the total population. Zhiping commune was established in 1958 and township was changed in 1984. In 1997, it had 12 village committees in Zhiping, Gaodi, niheng, Pingpu, Pengfang, Gaofeng, Xiaping, hubeijiao, dengwu, shefu, Guangming and tianshe. On July 6, 2000, Sanming Municipal People's Government (mingzhengwen No. 122) approved the abolition of Zhiping Township and the establishment of Zhiping she township.

In history, there are many talented people in Zhiping, including one Tanhua, two Jinshi and one Juren. Zeng Zhike, a native of tianshe village, Zhiping Township, Ninghua County, was born on March 15, 1913.
