Xinkou town is located in the southwest suburb of Sanming City, 12 kilometers away from the city. At the intersection of national highway 205 and provincial highway 102, it is a suburban town, known as "little Shanghai". It has 14 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee, with a total population of 16300 and a total land area of 234 square kilometers.

Shenkou town is a civilized town, one of the top 100 towns, an economic star town, an industrial satellite town, a strong town for developing township enterprises and a health town in Fujian Province.
