Beigao town belongs to Putian since Putian County was established in the Southern Dynasties. Cultural history

The scenic spots and historic sites in Beigao town include "Meilan sunset", "Chongqin evening smoke", the famous Anti Japanese general Kong Zhaoxi called "the third master" or "black minister" temple, the "Fairy Cave" in Wuhou mountain, the Jade Emperor Temple and "Wufeng Temple" and "ancient Buddha Temple" founded by Cai Xiang, a famous minister in Song Dynasty.

In 1991, a remnant stele was also found in Houji village, Beigao Town, Putian County. It was originally erected on the west side of the ancient road leading to houchengkou in the north of the head of the village. It was originally a mound of huge stones. The stele stood on a three-level pedestal, with a height of more than 20 feet. In the 1950s, the masses dug mountains to dig stones. Now the stone mound has become a small mound. The pedestal of the stone tablet has been destroyed. The stone tablet has been transferred to pave the stone slab of the bridge. The upper part of the stone tablet is cut off. The residual height is 137cm (64cm wide). The inscription contains "light (the lower half of the word) shows great wisdom" and "one (to the bottom of the word) zhenmani light Buddha". The stone surface is seriously weathered.

Wuhou mountain, located in the south of Xinghua Bay in Putian, stretches the towns of Hushi, Beigao and Dongqiao, with an altitude of more than 400 meters. It is the first peak in Putian coastal area.

Wuhou mountain is warm in winter and cool in summer with pleasant climate. It is an excellent resort for leisure, fitness and tourism. There are many ancient temples and caves in the mountains, among which the "Fairy Cave" is the best. The four major dream praying resorts in Puxian are chunpuxi, xiatianyun, qiuxiannv and dongjiuli. Among them, "qiuxiannv" is the "Fairy Cave" on Wuhou mountain, which is inlaid on the natural boulders beside the cliff and faces the abyss. It is surrounded by pines and craggy rocks. Every autumn, pilgrims from all over the world come in droves, seeking the best, praying for divination and dreams.
