In 1931, Mingshan town was built.

In 1950, Mingshan town and Pingdu town merged into Chengguan town.

In 1992, the new town was merged into Mingshan town.
In February 2009, Zhenjiang town was merged into Mingshan town; in December of the same year, Zhenjiang town was replaced by Mingshan street.
