Qixian town
Qixian town belongs to Yongqiao District, Suzhou City, Anhui Province. It is located in the south of Yongqiao District, about 22 kilometers away from the urban area. It is adjacent to Daying Town and Yongzhen Township in the south, Hugou town in Guzhen County in the southeast, daze town in the northeast, Taoyuan town in the North and Nanping and shuangduiji towns in Suixi County in the southwest.
By 2019, the total area of the town is about 102.93 square kilometers. The town has 14 villages and 207 natural villages, with a population of 82000, of which the town has a population of about 50000.
In and around the ancient city of Qi County, there are many places of interest: West Shanghang, East Shanghang, qiaoshangge, fish market, star watching platform, Jinluan hall, Erlong Xizhu, Yinwang temple, xiangwo, ancient battlefield, 72 company camp, etc.
Historical evolution
The state of Chu is the capital of Qi. According to historical records, in the fourth year of the reign of the king of Chu (224 BC), Qin General Wang Jian broke Chu's master in the south of Qi and killed Chu general Xiang Yan. In the 26th year of the reign of the king of Qin (221 BC), Qi county was established, belonging to Sishui county. In 209 BC, the peasant uprising led by Chen Sheng and Wu Guang broke out in daze township of Qi county. In the fourth year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (203 BC), it belonged to Peijun. In June of the fourth year of Zhenghe (89 BC), Dingsi was a rich Marquis state of cheqianqiu. In the first three years (71 BC), the state was still Qi county. The first year of emperor Xuandi's Festival (69 BC) belongs to Pengcheng county. Wang Mang changed Qi county to Qicheng County in the first year of the new dynasty. In December 1979, the original people's commune of Qi county was transformed into a district of Qi County, which consists of Qi county commune, Huinan commune, Tuanjie commune and Baiyi'an commune. On January 8, 1981, the Suxian County Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to abolish Qi county and set up Qi county commune. The south of Hui River belongs to Daying District, the four brigades of Baiyi'an commune and the north of Hui River belong to Taoyuan District.
