Liufu town

Liufu Town, subordinate to Fengyang County, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province, is located on the South Bank of the Huaihe River and in the west of Fengyang County. It borders Fucheng town in the East, Xiquan town and wudian town in the west, Dingyuan County in the South and Bengbu City in the north. It covers an area of 217.29 square kilometers and governs 20 administrative villages, 3 rural communities and 1 community neighborhood committee with a permanent resident population of 72386 (2017).

Fengyang county is an important economic town and Chuzhou is a strong economic town. In 2009, it was identified as the pilot town of "expanding power and strengthening town" in Anhui Province. It is planned to be built into a boutique small city during the 12th Five Year Plan period.

Historical evolution

Liufu town is rich in culture and has a long history. It got its name because Liu Qian, the garrison of Nanjing in Yongle Dynasty of Ming Dynasty, built a mansion here after returning to the field. During the Anti Japanese War and the war of liberation, it was an important base of the Communist Party of China. Liuquan temple and Qipan road in Shimin village were the permanent residence of the democratic government of dingfenghuai county (founded in February 1943 in the 32nd year of the Republic of China).
