Historical evolution
The rural areas originally belonged to Changping County and Wanping county. Dongsheng commune was established in August 1958 and changed to Dongsheng township in April 1984. In 1996, it covers an area of 45.2 square kilometers and has a population of 14000. It governs seven administrative villages, namely Xiaoying, Dazhongsi, Tayuan, bajiacun, Qinghe, Taipingzhuang and Mafang. The township government is located in Chengfu road. on September 10, 2001, the Beijing municipal government agreed to set up Dongsheng District Office in Dongsheng township of Haidian District, implementing "one set of people, two brands" with Dongsheng township; at the same time, some administrative divisions of the District Office (township) were adjusted, and the areas under the jurisdiction of Dazhongsi village and Taipingzhuang village were divided into six districts, namely Beixiaguan, Shuangyushu, Zhongguancun, Huayuan Road, Beitaipingzhuang and Xueyuan Road After adjustment, Dongsheng District Office (township) is divided into northeast and southwest regions. On December 28, the Dongsheng regional office was officially established. It has implemented a set of people and two brands with the Dongsheng township government, exercising the functions and powers of the government agency and the township government. at the end of 2001, Dazhong temple and Taiping village were withdrawn and the streets were merged. In 2005, the areas west of Beijing Baotou railway and north of Heqing road were under the jurisdiction of Qinghua garden sub district office. After the adjustment, the scope of Dongsheng area: the area to the north of the Fifth Ring Road remains unchanged, the area to the south of the Fifth Ring Road is the original boundary line of North, East and south, and the area to the west is Jingbao Railway East Caijing Road East Zhongguancun Road East.
