Shuanghe Township, belonging to Chengkou County of Chongqing, is located in the west of Chengkou county. It is adjacent to miaoba town in the East, Mingtong town in the south, Baisha Town in the West and Pingba town in the north. It is 58km away from the residence of Chengkou county government, with a total area of 178.8 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, Shuanghe Township belonged to Babao Liujia; in October 1984, it was changed from Shuanghe commune to Shuanghe township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Shuanghe township was 10286. As of June 2020, Shuanghe township has jurisdiction over one community and eight administrative villages, and the Township People's government is located in Shuanghekou.
In Shuanghe Township, corn, potato and rice are the main food crops; pig, cattle and mountain chicken are the main animal husbandry; coal mine is the main industry. In 2018, Shuanghe township has one industrial enterprise and 27 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the eight guarantees and six categories.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to Shuanghekou Township regiment in the western district. In 1935, it belonged to the joint protection of Shuanghekou in three districts. In 1940, it belonged to miaoshuang township of three districts. In 1947, it belonged to Chongde township of three districts.
In December 1949, it belonged to Chongde township of four districts.
In August 1952, it belongs to Chongde township of three districts.
In March 1953, it broke away from Chongde Township and became Shuanghe township.
In 1958, Shuanghe township was changed into Shuanghe commune.
In October 1984, Shuanghe commune was changed into Shuanghe township.
In November 2001, Baizhi Township and Yuping Township were merged into Shuanghe township.
