Chakou town
Chakou town belongs to she County, Anhui Province. Chakou town is an old revolutionary base area. It is located at the source of the continent in the border of Shexian County, Anhui and Zhejiang. Huangshan Qiandao Lake highway passes through it. It is 44 kilometers away from Shexian county and 88 kilometers away from Qiandao Lake, with a total area of 94.35 square kilometers.
Chakou town borders xinxikou Township and Wuyang Township in the southwest, qizili town in the north and Chun'an County in Zhejiang Province in the East. It is the southeast gateway of she county. Dayuan River and Xiaoyuan River, tributaries of the upper reaches of Xin'an River, converge here in a "Y" shape, hence the name "fork". Chakou has been an important distribution center of Dayuan's daily consumer goods and local products since ancient times. It is also the political, economic and cultural center of Dayuan.

Chakou town is located in the southeast of the county, 50 kilometers away from the county. It borders xinxikou Township in the south, Weiping town in Zhejiang Province in the East, Wuyang Township in the West and qizili town in the north. The total area is 94.35 square kilometers, including 792 mu of dry land, 1575 mu of bamboo garden, 19297 mu of tea garden, 4444 mu of mulberry garden and 65 mu of orchard. The altitude of longwujiang is 1065 meters and that of qingshanjian is 1058.2 meters. Dayuan River and Xiaoyuan River converge at the fork to form a continental source, with a drainage area of 93.6 square kilometers.
Historical evolution
From Song Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, it belongs to Xiaonv township. In 1941, Shuangxi Township, Fangxing Township and Dayuan Township were established, belonging to the North Bank district. In August of the 33rd year of the Republic of China, Dayuan Township and Shuangxi Township were merged into Dazhou township. In May of 1949, Shuangxi Township and Dayuan Township were restored. In August 1952, 15 townships including Jincun, Miaoqian, fengxiangtan, muzhutan, Shanghu, Jingtan, yinfukeng, Chakou, Lingli, Dameng, wenshandian, Fengqi, shangjinzhu, Hutian and qiahe were established. In December 1955, it was divided into four townships: miaojian, Chakou, Shanghu and qiahe. Chakou commune was established in October 1958. In February 1959, miaojian, Chakou, muzhutan and qiahe management areas were established. In 1961, it was divided into Chakou commune, Jingtan commune, Zhoujiacun commune, qiahe commune, etc. In 1983, the commune was transformed into a township. In March 1992, Chakou Township and Jingtan Township merged to form Chakou town. Qiahe township was merged into Wuyang township. In December 2004, Zhoujiacun township was merged into Chakou town. In 2005, Chakou town had jurisdiction over 20 administrative villages, 112 natural villages, 132 villager groups, 7133 households and 18841 people, including agricultural 6279 households and 17687 people. The majority of the residents are Han nationality, and there are 25 Miao, Susu, Zhuang, Mongolian and Manchu.

Chakou is an old revolutionary area with rich revolutionary tradition. As early as the autumn of 1932, there were activities of the Red Army. In the autumn of 1933, the "zhutongtan branch of the Communist Party of China" was established, which was one of the earliest branches of the Communist Party of China in Shenan. At the same time, the Red Army guerrillas were also established. There were "Jinzhu uprising" in the later period of the agrarian revolution, and "burning zhutongtan" in the period of the liberation war. Villages with "old revolutionary base area" signs such as Zhoujia village, Yingfu village, Wenshan village, centipede shaped village, Gongan village, sandang village and qumu village were scattered all over the town. The planting area of crops in Chakou town is 910 hectares, mainly producing tea, cocoon, chrysanthemum, pecan and other economic crops, and its output is in the forefront of the county.
