Ethnic composition
There are Han, Hui and man nationalities in our township. The ancestors of Hui nationality originally lived in Henan, Shandong, Beijing, Inner Mongolia and other places. They successively moved to the local area in the early Tang Dynasty, the early Yuan Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty to cultivate farmland or engage in business and practice medicine. Their marriage, funeral, marriage and marriage, religious beliefs and living habits are still old. Manchu, whose ancestral home is Changbai Mountain, Heilongjiang and Songhua River Valley in Northeast China, was originally a Nuzhen nationality. It is a descendant of Wanyan Aguda, the jintaizu, and has a compound surname of Wanyan. After the fall of the Jin Dynasty, a part of the Wanyan family moved to Yunnei Prefecture, Datong Prefecture, Shanxi Province. Because of the long-term scuffle between song and Jin Dynasties, the ethnic hatred was caused. In order to avoid discrimination and oppression, the Yinzu changed their surname from Nuzhen to Han, and changed Wanyan to Wan. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, general Wan Pei of this clan took part in the uprising of Zhu Yuanzhang's subordinates and came to Luzhou with his army. He was ordered to settle in Feidong to reclaim land. In May 1983, the Feidong County Government officially restored the surnames of Manchu and Wanyan according to the historical facts, Wanyan's wishes and the relevant provisions of national policies, thus ending the history of changing the surnames of Wanyan's hermits. Before liberation, the political status, economy and culture of ethnic minorities were lower than that of Han nationality. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the people's government implemented ethnic equality, opposed ethnic discrimination and oppression, and actively trained and selected ethnic compatriots to participate in the management of state affairs and other social activities. In May 1994, with the approval of the provincial government, Paifang Hui Manchu Township was established by cutting 12 marginal villages of Zhongxing Township, Lukou Township and Caomiao township where Hui and Manchu nationalities are relatively concentrated. According to the records of Feidong County annals and Feidong Manchu annals, there are more than twice as many ethnic talents in our township. In the Qing Dynasty, there was Bai Wujin, a Hui Wujin scholar. He taught the Hui people to strengthen unity with the Han people and invested in the construction of Libai temple. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong and Emperor Daoguang in Qing Dynasty, there were Wan Yanzhi, Wan Yanren, his father and son, both Jinshi and Zhishi. During the May 4th movement, Wan Yan Zhiping, a Manchu, was the director of the Jilin Changji Railway Bureau of the Beiyang government, and actively followed Chen Duxiu to fight for democracy and science. Mi Guanghong, Wu Hongquan, and Bai Zongwen of the Hui gave their precious lives for the revolution. Wanyan Yizhou, director of Anhui literature and Art Research Institute and editor in chief of Yitan, and Wanyan Hairui, a famous writer, are all Manchu people in my hometown. In 1994, in Paifang Hui Manchu Township, there were 38 cadres holding posts above the Department (battalion) level in the party, government and army organs, 60 factory directors (managers), 56 engaged in education, research and creation, and more than 10 compatriots from Hong Kong and Taiwan.
